What kind of work are you looking for?
on:africa is always looking for new material. We are currently looking for:
- fiction and non-fiction;
- blog-writers and tweeters;
- anchor contributors as well as those who wish to submit work on a one-off basis;
- multi-media types who work in photography, film, radio or music.
How do the themes work?
The website is arranged thematically with a new theme announced every month. Check the ‘upcoming themes page‘ for an idea of what themes we are going to be covering over the next three months.
Do you have an idea for a theme for an up-coming edition? Contact us and if we think your proposed theme fits in with the overall on:africa approach, you might just see the website organised around your theme.
What if my work falls outside the current theme?
It’s still welcome! We will be having regular features pieces as well which can fall outside of the topic of the monthly themes. Inside of being available through the theme currently under development, your piece will be organised under a category – politics, culture etc – and will add to the increasing body of work available on the on:africa website.s
How do I get in touch?
That’s the easy bit! Drop us a line info (at) onafricajournal.com.
What happens once I’ve submitted a piece of work?
We say thank you!
Then, we’ll read your piece to make sure it falls within the remit of the on:africa project. We’ll run through your work for style and get it proof-read before sending it back to you to approve any proposed changes and queries. Once you give us the go-ahead, we aim to publish it within the next release. However, if we think your piece might be more appropriate for an up-coming theme, we’ll aim to publish it then. Either way, we’ll communicate with you throughout the process and look forward to any suggestions or input you might have.
